If you’re looking for the cheapest and most simplistic way to book flights, you’ve come to the right place. Whether you’re in it for the long haul or you’re looking to leave the 9 to 5 life behind you and escape for the weekend, if you’re a travel fiend like me, Sky Scanner will become your best friend and latest obsession.
I can spend hours playing around on Sky Scanner to find the cheapest flights for all of the places on my ever-growing wander list, it’s like the compare the market of flight sites, you can search for all UK flights on any dates and it will give you the cheapest fare option, cheapest airport, cheapest date, cheapest destination – it literally compares everything for you, saving so much time in finding a great value fare. And believe me as a self-confessed online bargain hunter I’ve tried out a ton of similar sites and nothing ever beats it.
If you’re feeling spontaneous and have no preference when you want to go away, type your nearest or favourite airport into the ‘from’ box, and type “everywhere” into the ‘to’ box. Make sure you have selected cheapest month for both depart and return, then go ahead and click search flights.
This is where the excitement kicks in. It’s like flight roulette.
A list of destinations will pop up with the cheapest possible flights you can get, some starting from just £10, corrrr. If that doesn’t make you want to hop on a plane I don’t know what will.
Pick your place, and choose your flights, side note: it will get slightly pricier once you pick your preferred dates, but if you’re really flexible then it shouldn’t be too much. Just play around with dates until you find your perfect match. (You can see why I can easily spend hours on Sky Scanner now!)
But if you’ve got your heart set on a certain trip, that’s easy enough too, just type wherever you want to go into the ‘to’ box and either select cheapest month or choose the month you’d like to go then pick the dates that best suit you. The prices on each date is the perfect guide to finding the cheapest flights, so make the most of it out and try out a few different variations. One more day on holiday can’t hurt can it?! I’ve even found return flights from London to Los Angeles for as low as £240 before, now that is a bargain.
